The present method was developed using castor oil as a precursor. The results clarify that the nickel–carbon (Ni/C) catalyst has a high activity for ethanol steam reforming. Itwas observed that the catalytic behavior could be modified according to the experimental conditions employed. Moreover, it is interesting to note that the increase in the catalytic activity of the Ni/C nanocomposite over time, at 500 and 600 ◦C of reaction temperature, may be associated with the formation of filamentous carbon.
