Item Multi-objective approach for multiple clusters detection in data points events.(2019) Bodevan, Emerson Cotta; Duczmal, Luiz Henrique; Duarte, Anderson Ribeiro; Silva, Pedro Henrique Lopes; Moreira, Gladston Juliano PratesThe spatial scan statistic is a widely used technique for detecting spatial clusters. Several extensions of this technique have been developed over the years. The objectives of these techniques are the detection accuracy improvement and a flexibilization on the search clusters space. Based on Voronoi-Based Scan (VBScan), we propose a biobjective approach using a recursively VBScan method called multiobjective multiple clusters VBScan (MOMC-VBScan), alongside a new measure called matching. This approach aims to identify and delineate all multiple significant anomalies in a search space. We conduct several experiments on different simulated maps and two real datasets, showing promising results. The proposed approach proved to be fast and with good precision in determining the partitions.Item Patient safety in primary health care and polypharmacy : cross-sectional survey among patients with chronic diseases.(2019) Araújo, Lorena Ulhôa; Santos, Delba Fonseca; Bodevan, Emerson Cotta; Cruz, Hellen Lilliane da; Souza, Jacqueline de; Barcellos, Neila Marcia SilvaObjective: to characterize and determine the polypharmacy prevalence in patients with chronic diseases and to identify the factors associated, in order to improvement of pharmaceutical care focused on patient safety. Methods: cross-sectional study included 558 patients, covered by primary health care, using a household and structured questionnaire. We analyzed the data on polypharmacy and its clinical and socioeconomic factors. Poisson regression analysis with robust variance was applied, with results expressed in prevalence ratio. Results: the results showed that polypharmacy (consumption of four or more drugs) was of 37.6%. The prevalence ratio analyses identified independent variables associated with polypharmacy: age (3.05), economic strata (0.33), way of medication acquisition through a combination of out-ofpocket and Brazilian public health system (1.44), diabetes and hypertension (2.11), comorbidities (coronary artery disease 2.26) and hospital admission (1.73). In the analyses, inappropriate medication use of the 278 patients (≥ 65 years) was associated with polypharmacy (prevalence ratio 4.04). Conclusion: polypharmacy study becomes an opportunity to guide the strategies for the patient safety to promote the medication without harm in chronic diseases.Item Voronoi distance based prospective space-time scans for point data sets : a dengue fever cluster analysis in a southeast Brazilian town.(2011) Duczmal, Luiz Henrique; Moreira, Gladston Juliano Prates; Duczmal, Denise Bulgarelli; Takahashi, Ricardo Hiroshi Caldeira; Magalhães, Flávia Costa Oliveira; Bodevan, Emerson CottaThe Prospective Space-Time scan statistic (PST) is widely used for the evaluation of space-time clusters of point event data. Usually a window of cylindrical shape is employed, with a circular or elliptical base in the space domain. Recently, the concept of Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) was applied to specify the set of potential clusters, through the Density-Equalizing Euclidean MST (DEEMST) method, for the detection of arbitrarily shaped clusters. The original map is cartogram transformed, such that the control points are spread uniformly. That method is quite effective, but the cartogram construction is computationally expensive and complicated.
